Tawana Resources NL is a resource focused ASX and JSE-listed Company. Tawana is committed to becoming a near-term lithium and tantalum producer. Tawana’s principal project is the Bald Hill Lithium and Tantalum Mine. Tawana and Alliance Mineral Assets Limited (Singapore Exchange Listed) each have an equal 50:50 ownership of the Bald Hill Project. The project is located 50km south east of Kambalda in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia. The Project comprises four mining leases, one mining lease application, and 20 other licenses totalling 774km sq

Due to business growth in WA we are currently recruiting for a Safety, Emergency Response (SER)/Medic to work on an 8/6 FIFO roster. The role will be primarily responsible for providing medical care across the project, fulfilling the day to day requirements to support the HSE function, assisting with the maintenance of facilities and equipment as well as leading and supporting the skill development of Emergency Response Team members to enable them to make decisions that will protect life and property.


Your main duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a proactive working relationship with Departments and site personnel to ensure a consistent application of Risk Management Strategies and Safety Culture programs in the field
  • Providing support for the day to day requests from Departments for assistance, including researching and communicating Emergency Response advice in a timely manner
  • Maintain and manage all emergency equipment on site, inclusive of testing requirements, i.e. Hydrostatic testing
  • Provide subject matter knowledge to update all site emergency plans
  • Responsible for infield coaching and monitoring to Supervisors and employees in Emergency Response matters
  • To plan daily time in the field undertaking Safety Interactions
  • Daily attendance at Departmental Pre-Start Meetings
  • Provide diverse support across all aspects of the HSE Department i.e. Safety, Medical and Emergency Response
  • Having a visual presence on site in a supporting capacity
  • Work within the company’s HSE management system
  • Maintain a register of ERT members to gather analytical attendance and training data
  • Maintain the sites medical facilities inclusive of stock ordering and compliance
  • Maintain medical records of employees under strict confidential requirements
  • Provide emergency medical care to all site employees and contractors
  • Maintain safe standard work practices


Essential selection criteria and experience required:

  • A proven commitment to the safety and well-being of the workforce
  • Previous experience in a similar site SER position
  • As a minimum Cert 4 OHS certification
  • Training and Assessing qualifications
  • Medical Qualifications – As a minimum Cert 4 Ambulance Care
  • A sound Understanding of MSI Act and Regulations
  • Current and Valid Driver’s license
  • Previous work in a mining operation
  • Well-developed communication and literacy skills
  • Ability to work autonomously with well-developed time management skills
  • Excellent word processing and MS Office skills
